‎Nobody tells you this when you are struggling: ‎ ‎Sometimes, being too available can keep you poor. ‎ ‎Not because helping people is bad. ‎ ‎But because you cannot build a better life when everybody has unlimited access to the three resources that could change your life. ‎ ‎You must learn to be selfish with the following elements in your li: ‎ ‎➡️1. TIME ‎ ‎Your time is your life. ‎ ‎Every hour you give to gossip, endless scrolling, unnecessary outings, pointless arguments and people who have no direction is an hour you can never recover. ‎ ‎When you are trying to escape poverty, your free time is not really “free.” ‎ ‎It is your building capital. ‎ ‎• Use it to learn. ‎• Build. ‎• Sell. ‎• Network. ‎• Create. ‎• Think. ‎ ‎➡️2. MONEY ‎ ‎Stop treating every income like money available for charity. ‎ ‎You can't afford to spend carelessly or answer every phone call crying for financial help. ‎ ‎Know what to respond to and what to say no to. ‎ ‎It's not every person or problem you must save or solve with your money. ‎ ‎Be frugal in your spending if you must rise. ‎ ‎When you are building, every naira or dollar must have a job. ‎ ‎• Some should keep you alive. ‎• Some should build your skills. ‎• Some should acquire productive assets. ‎• Some should create opportunities. ‎ ‎You don't need to look rich while you are still building wealth. ‎ ‎There is a season when your friends may think you are stingy because you are busy funding a future they cannot see. ‎ ‎Let them think. ‎ ‎➡️3. ACCESS ‎ ‎This is the one people rarely talk about. ‎ ‎You cannot give everyone equal access to your life. ‎ ‎Some people deserve your presence. ‎ ‎Others only deserve your respect from a distance. ‎ ‎If someone constantly drains your attention, distracts your ambition, mocks your growth or pulls you back into habits you are desperately trying to escape, distance yourself from them. ‎ ‎Distance is not pride.
