@drkyliesoanes: Me: I’m going to plan my content better, ahead of time. Also me: ooh. Frogs! I ride past this grassy stormwater basin every week, and come winter, it is CHOCK FULL of frogs. Because it’s so effective at slowing water down and letting it pool, and because it’s full of reeds and grasses, it ends up being a popular breeding site. Those foamy white bubbly things are egg masses, probably from marsh frogs (Limnodynastes for the Latin lovers). So this little patch in the middle of a suburban estate does triple duty: greenspace, stormwater management, and wildlife habitat ✅✅✅ Bonus, there are growling grass frogs in the area so maybe it’s even good for them too. #urbanecology #everydaynature
