Christopher Luxon honestly what is the point of banning phones? I understand the concerns around self-harm and harmful content but there are already things like blocking reporting and parental controls that can help with that. Why punish every kid because of what a small number of people might do? And what about the bigger problems young people are facing like stabbing gang violence drugs abuse and neglect? There are kids running away from home because they don’t feel safe or supported. Why isn’t there more focus on protecting those kids and dealing with the issues that are actually putting them in danger? What’s next banning kids from talking to each other? 😭 Kids should have some responsibility and freedom to make their own choices while being taught how to use technology safely. Banning phones might sound like a solution but it doesn’t fix the bigger problems. There are way more important things that need attention.
