@carly_innerchildtherapy: If you were raised by an emotionally immature mother, some of the relationship patterns you struggle with today may make more sense when you understand your early blueprint for love. From monitoring connection to chasing emotional uncertainty, recognising the pattern is how we begin to change what feels familiar. 🤍 #EmotionallyImmatureMother #MotherWound #RelationshipPatterns #InnerChildHealing
This is me. My mom a narcissist and i married one . 45 years old now 20 years therapy and not dating anymore. I don’t see bad things I actually gaslight myself

I had an emotionally immature mother, and an emotionally absent father. I'm now in my 60's and my last relationship ended 19 years ago. I've done a lot of reading and a lot of thinking and healing. I now choose not to have another romantic relationship. I'm quite content ☺️

An emotionally immature mother who gave me the silent treatment and a narcissist for a father. I am going to therapy again soon.

I feel like I really understand this about myself but all the time I find myself falling into the same patterns again. I often don’t realise in the moment and then as time goes on I realise that I’ve done the same thing and it really frustrates me.

My mother actually believed that as an infant me crying was just me being difficult, and therefore I was just left to my self, and it continued until I was pretty much all grown up. My dad was no better, and told me my feelings were wrong though my entire upbringing. And everything problem was usually my fault. I don't really remember anything from childhood, but I have a list of things I know happened.

Thank you for this. I’ve never heard it explained so well. You’ve just prodded a memory of sitting wondering what her mood was before I asked for something. I totally overanalyse my interactions. Been single for 7 years now. Wow

What’s really hard is your intuition being right about that person - that they not treating you right .

I have a friend i continue to go back to. They always hurt me. I always walk on eggshells but i ALWAYS go back when they come back around 😩 It’s like I know i do it and it’s wrong but i can’t stop it. My mom definitely was this mom

Thankyou for this. I found this but more in my platonic friendship with women rather than my romantic relationships with men, does that make sense?
