@theportfoliocareercoach: Your 30s will ask more of you than your 20s ever did. You need a different playbook: Millennial women between 29 and 39. If you work in corporate, start these 10 habits before it is too late. 1️⃣ Max your employer pension match. If your employer matches 5% and you are contributing 3%, that gap is money you are not collecting every month. 2️⃣ Open one separate account and name it after your next move. Not emergency savings. Money with one job: buying you options later. 3️⃣ When you disagree in a meeting, say so in the room. “I see it differently” is a leadership move. Nodding and fixing it later is not. 4️⃣ Ask your manager what your promotion criteria would look like written down. If they cannot answer clearly, that tells you something important. 5️⃣ Check your maternity leave policy before you need it. The time to understand your rights is when you still have full leverage. 6️⃣ Tell your partner specifically what your career costs in time and mental load. Do not assume they understand. Most do not until you name it. 7️⃣ Have one money conversation per quarter with your partner that is not about bills. What are you each building, individually and together? 8️⃣ Book all your leave at the start of the year. If it is not in the calendar in January, something else will take that slot. 9️⃣ When someone takes credit for your idea, name it in the next sentence. Not aggressively. Just clearly: “Yes, that is what I was proposing.” 🔟 Once a quarter, ask a senior person outside your direct line for feedback on your work. They see things your manager does not say.
