Okay respectfully, Peeta was going through the same situation, he just did what he would’ve wanted if he needed it. Gale spent his life as a fixer, but he didn’t know how to fix it. He wasn’t awful in this instance he was ill-equipped.

honestly I think it was just that Peeta REALLY went through similiar things to her, Gale tried comforting her genuinely but he didn't get through similiar trauma so he didn't really knew what to do, while Peeta always felt what's right even when he himself wasn't sure

When I was reading the books she constantly tries to convince herself that she chooses gale but she likes kissing peeta and I’m just thinking “girl, you are kidding yourself because you fear stability. Date the baker boy.”
