"she cant have point shoes bc the cosplayers will hurt themselves" is the most stupid argument against odettes Pointe shoes. theres genshin characters with guns and crossbows as part of their design, and yet cosplayers don't run around with a loaded revolver for the sake of 'accuracy'.

guys let's be fucking real here, they didn't give her pointe shoes because they didn't want to have to make a new walk/run/sprint animation just for her. this'll likely be the only ballet dancer they make into a playable character so it just wasn't worth it to them when they could give her pretty heels instead

If you like the heels on Odette that’s fine. Different strokes for different folks and all that… but I’m tired of the excuses they come up with for why she’s in them. Like “it’s to protect cosplayers” meanwhile Colombia is walking around barefoot and half the female cast is one light breeze away from an indecent exposure charge. Or “climbing mountains and fighting in point shoes would be so impractical” AS IF HEELS ARE ANY BETTER! She is in heels because hoyo didn’t feel like making a flat foot or pointed shoe model. It’s as simple as that.

think in universe for the Pointe shoes. they are expensive and fragile, not made for walking around normal terrain or in the snow. It makes more sense for her to be wearing her actual shoes she wears outside than Pointe shoes

I've seen so many videos of Odette cosplayers, being told to not wear pointed shoes (bc they're expensive since theyre fitted for your feet, and you'll hurt yourself - from professional ballerinas), and to wear pointed ballerina shoes (for more realism/ accuracy to ballet). its just ughhhhh (all im gonna say is wear whatever youre comfortable with😭😭)

Honestly idgaf if cosplayers shoes are accurate, wear whatevers comfortable cause you have to walk so much at cons. I actually think its kinda cute when someone has a full on accurate cosplay except for the shoes and theyre wearing like converse

I think her shoes are fine, it wouldn’t make sense for her to run around and fight outside in pointe shoes, they’d be impractical and get ruined really fast, would’ve been cool if her heels were Cryo and disappeared so she had pointe shoes when dancing, but I understand why they didn’t do that for only one or two animations

For me personally. Cosplay in whatever shoes are comfy and work for you. If you want pointe and can do pointe, do it! If you want heels, wear heels. If you like neither, go in tennis shoes for all anyone cares. It should be focused less on the heels and the magnificent cosplays people make
