Attention parents! If you think this kind of behaviour will teach your child to be proactive about chores or offering help, it won’t! It teaches them how to avoid receiving this kind of treatment/reaction from you. It won’t help them in the long run because as soon as they’re on their own and you’re not in their life (and I guarantee you they won’t want you around if you act like this constantly) they won’t feel compelled to appease you anymore. Speaking from experience. So if you want to use fear to parent and make your children resent you, go for it!
