Tumbletick - The Orctioneer :
Just economic market forces and people doing their own form of work. No issues at all.

Neil chalmers, obviously 🙄 :
I visit a local charity bookshop (local community charity) there's always resellers there and their not just looking for bulk to sell, their searching for first editions and rare and unusual items to sell at massive mark ups so the charity loses out. I've found a few books where I've had to point out the value to the volunteers (all books are £1) in this place. every little helps 😁

I’ve resold since 2002. I started buying things from charity shops and also factory seconds horse rugs and dog rugs and selling on eBay. I don’t see a problem, the charity shops get the price they wanted for the item, I sell it and the buyer still gets a bargain price on an item they wanted to buy.

The taking it all and leaving to for nobody is scalping - so yeah that's selfish. If you took a few and left some behind then who cares. It's like raiding a foodbank and taking everything for yourself knowing other people need it too. Buying one or 2 items and reselling a style or brand etc isn't selfish though

I think for me the line is drawn when people buy viral items from supermarkets and then sell them for triple the price that you would get them for in the supermarket. Mind you, more fool the people who buy said items

charity shops are in effect resellers. I think the only morally questionable space are the resource hoarders. Those people who buy up all of a resource and re sells it at a huge mark up. Think the bog roll barons in covid or the furby fools when those annoying trend items came out.

I don’t have a problem with reselling the charity gets the price they are asking, once it’s sold it’s yours to do what you want with it

I think what does it matter as the supermarket and charity shops get the money they want for it

A person doesn't have to buy off a reseller , so I see it as no problem, in fact iv a massive bundle of new clothes I'm gonna sell to a reseller as I don't have time to sell individually....😁

If I see something in a charity shop that I think they could sell for more even if I’m buying (mainly books and games for me ) I let them know and offer a fair amount for the item

I think it’s a spectrum. I think upcycling and reselling is different to like apparently at D23 people bought highly popular items and reselling straight the way more than double the price. I think it comes down to if they are knowingly taking advantage and it hurts people verses taking advantage of an opportunity they have found

It depends on what it is. If it's clothes go for it as long as you don't take everything in a charity shop, if it's something like Pokémon cards it's awful.
