The Philippine Coast Guard said MTUG SL SUAL 1 was anchored when seawater began entering through a breach in its hull, prompting the crew to ground the vessel in shallow waters. The PCG, Botolan Response Team and local fisherfolk rescued all nine crew members, who were reported to be in good condition.
