The Lord Jesus is coming soon. Are you ready? Perhaps you may think, the return of the Lord Jesus is still a long way away. But think about the time of Noah. Before the great flood came, people continued eating and drinking, getting married, and living their normal lives. No one thought that disaster would suddenly arrive. Until the flood truly came, they realised: once certain things happen, there is no longer an opportunity to turn back. So the question we should truly consider today is not whether the Lord will return, but this: As the day of the Lord’s return draws closer, have you begun to prepare? Jesus already told us that in the last days there would be wars and rumours of wars, famines and earthquakes, and that people’s hearts would grow colder, people would become more self focused, and move further away from God. Look at the world today: wars continue, disasters happen more frequently, people’s hearts are becoming colder, moral standards are becoming more confused, and many people no longer even consider sin to be sin. All of these things should cause us to be watchful. Jesus said that we do not know the day or the hour, but we can recognise the signs of the times. Just like before a storm arrives, you may not know exactly when the lightning will strike, but you can already see the dark clouds and hear the thunder. Those who truly wait for the Lord will not only say with their mouths, “I am waiting for the Lord.” Their lives will become watchful, they will seek the truth, turn back to God, and prepare to welcome the Lord. Because the most frightening thing is not that you have never heard about the Lord’s return, but that when the Lord truly comes, you discover that you were never prepared.
