@ashadivinity: History Lesson🤓🤓🤓 Last Public Hanging: Michael Barrett was hanged outside Newgate Prison in London on May 26, 1868. Public executions ended completely after the Capital Punishment Amendment Act 1868 moved all future executions inside prison walls. Last Public Beheading: Simon Fraser, 11th Lord Lovat, was beheaded at Tower Hill in London on April 9, 1747, for his part in the Jacobite rising. Decapitation as a judicial punishment was formally abolished in 1870. Absolute Last Executions: The final overall executions in the UK (which were done privately behind prison walls by hanging) took place on August 13, 1964, when Peter Allen and Gwynne Evans were executed. Capital punishment was fully and permanently ended thereafter. #viral #ukjustice #supremecourt #fyp #foryoupage
