The second his mask comes off, he’s no longer JUST dr doom. Everyone in that movie who sees his face will call him tony except the fantastic 4, it’s unavoidable. Only way that dosent happen is if the mask NEVER comes off. But they wouldn’t hire rdj if the mask wasn’t going to come off

They shouldn’t have mentioned RDJ is Doom it should’ve been rumors and a reveal in the actual movie. It would’ve been hidden well because Thor and Cap are back so naturally the audience would’ve thought Tony would’ve been back too if they saw him on set, not knowing he was Doom.

2 ways the casting for Doom can be saved: 1. RDJ is actually returning to play both Doom and Iron Man at the same time. Doom will be masked the whole time, Tony Stark won't. 2. Doom doesn't actually look like Tony Stark and is just using his appearance to gain the trust of the Avengers. The real Doom is either another actor being kept secret or will be recast in the future.

The problem is if Doom remains covered up then there’s not much reason to have gotten Robert Downey jr. There’s plenty of other good actors that could’ve done it for cheaper. The movie will make a lot of money regardless. I think they casted him because there will be a story/reason behind it 🤔
