@leonarddeleonard: One of my favorite tricks when working with static percussion and hi-hat samples is to add a subtle layer of @Beatsurfing RANDOM Metal underneath. I like playing with Instability and Deviance to introduce small variations and movements, giving the sequence a bit more life and unpredictability without changing the original groove or sound.
