As a woman who has survived “real” DV situation i could never imagine doing this. I didn’t call the cops for years bc i didn’t know what to do with being a mother and alone. Eventually I left with nothing until he went to work and grab things. As a woman i’m thoroughly embarrassed. Accountability

I was kind of in this situation two years ago. I was the one being abused but I still went to jail because the abuser lied. 6 months later all charges were dropped! I left the abuser before charges were dropped but point being just because you get abused doesn't mean you won't stay out of jail. just keep doing right and the truth will always come out
