It’s an easy fix: put an end to AI. We were all warned when AI started that this was going to happen, but politicians and authorities had no backbone and allowed it to continue.

You should have a phrase, if someone phones you asking for money your safe phrase should be something like “I know you’re a scammer” and they respond with another phrase completely random like “it’s unusually wet this time of year”

Great advice I I have had AI calls and yes sounds just like a person and answers questions but you can trip it up watch out what a sad world we live in think of the elderly

If a loved one is panicking on the phone they could easily say “I don’t know I can’t remember”, if that person sounds like your child or your partner would you be confident enough to say it’s not them? The hang-up-and-call-back idea is much better.

Sooo we’re one of the weird ones that have had safe words for years, I learned this working as a nanny where the child was taught a safe word if anyone else was to come pick her up from school, she would not go with anyone that did not know the safe word. I was like that’s smart in any unexpected situation and I agreed with a safe word with my parents and now have one with my husband. It actually saved us from fraud when someone hacked my Facebook and contacted my dad asking for help, he of course called me but I was in a meeting with phone on mute, he then got really worried that I really was in trouble, but he just wrote back ”of course I’ll help just type the safe word to me and we’re good to go” and that was the end of that conversation😅 my husband asked me our safe word a couple of weeks ago when I called him to pick me up in a weird place because there was a stomping the train service. It is actually a really quick smart way to stay safe, it is not always easy to come up with good control questions when on the spot and especially if the person on the other end is telling you things that if they were true would make you really worried for your loved one. This is such good advice for everyone 👍🏻
