hi everyone. engineer here. mono basically means the sound is coming from one channel and stereo means two (left and right). mono is going to shove all of the sound it’s picking up into one channel and play it back through one. stereo is going to play it through the left and right channels. it isn’t a one size fits all situation and depends on what you’re recording and what microphone is being used.

mono is better cause stereo also uses the top microphone which is pointed to the crowd.

i’ve tested all options and spatial is the best for me butttt (and i say this everytime i mention spatial), i record in landscape and never in portrait so i think that might be why spatial is so good for me

If ur wondering why ur phone has three speakers. Bottom, back (camera hole) and front. PA systems in these venues are calibrated to have perfect coverage (delay/distance calculation etc). Your phone having three different microphones is what causes that weird airy audio. Phasing etc.
