The clothes back then were slightly thinner I think. Or at least the undershirts you layered with were thinner material so the outer shirt didn’t look as bulky

back in 2007 I would make fake double layered shirts by cutting up one of the shirts and sewing parts of it to the bottom and sleeves on the inside of the other shirt, that way it looked less bulky.

its partially because youre wearing 2 of the same shirt on top of eachother. usually it was 2 different shirts. like a patterned or solid coloured long sleeved shirt under a graphic tee, or a button up over a blouse or spaghetti strapped tank top

You have to have two different lengths of shirt! The under layer needs to be longer and the top layer needs to be shorter! Usually it would be a longer shirt and a normal lengthed shirt. You also might like it better if the top layer has a collar (or both layers), gives more of a 2000s vibe. :-)
