Consortium PVT Estimates HH Won 2026 Election By Ellen Hambuba & Patricia Banda A consortium of civil society organisations promoting good governance and constitutionalism says its Parallel Vote Tabulation –PVT- shows that President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA won the 2026 Presidential Election, with an estimated 57.9 per cent of the vote. The Consortium says the estimate was generated from a scientifically selected sample of polling stations that was fully covered, allowing it to produce a national estimate while the Electoral Commission of Zambia –ECZ- was still conducting its official results aggregation. The Consortium says its PVT estimate was subsequently compared with the official presidential results announced by the ECZ. According to the Consortium, President HICHILEMA's official vote share stood at 60.49 per cent, compared with its estimate of 57.9 per cent. The Consortium says BRIAN MUNDUBILE was estimated to have received 40.2 per cent of the vote, compared with his official result of 37.87 per cent. Speaking at a press briefing in Lusaka today, Consortium Chairperson ISAAC MWANZA said the differences between the PVT estimates and the final ECZ results for the two leading candidates remained within approximately three percentage points across all provinces. Southern Africa Centre for Constructive Resolution of Disputes –SACCORD- Executive Director ARTHUR MUYUNDA said the organisation has observed widespread misinformation about the election results circulating on social media. Mr. MUYUNDA said this was in contrast to the official results being released by the ECZ. Meanwhile, Zambian Electoral Education and Governance Initiative National Coordinator JACOB MAKAMBWE called for increased voter education to help citizens better understand electoral processes.
