@dr.stefano.sinicropi: "Why did you become a surgeon?" 🎙️ Even as a kid, I was solving puzzles. I'd hear adults arguing, even about their marriages, and I'd catch myself thinking, "let me think about this." I was also obsessed with people. Being around them, talking to them, understanding them. So I asked myself: why not point those two things at the biggest puzzle out there, the human body? I love working with my hands too, so surgery felt right. But it started with becoming a physician first. #WellnessAtTheSpeedOfLight #SpineSurgeon #WhyIBecameADoctor #fyp @Brandon T Adams @Dr.Sinicropi

Being good with your hands can make you a great technician. Being genuinely interested in people is what makes the difference.

This explains so much about the way you talk about medicine now. You're still trying to understand the whole person, not just one part of the body.

The best doctors I've met are genuinely curious about people. You can feel the difference as a patient.

The puzzle part makes perfect sense for a surgeon. You're constantly figuring out what isn't working and how to fix it.

This story makes the career choice make a lot of sense. Curious about people + obsessed with solving problems + working with your hands = surgeon.

The interesting part is that the curiosity about people seems to have stayed just as important as the interest in anatomy.
