if you have a goal to retire early, but can’t max out your 401k or IRA yet, should you put any money into a brokerage, or should you wait til you can max out the tax advantaged accounts?

I am MUCH closer to retirement than uou, but wish I realized 10 years ago how having everything in a 401k would cause tax and health insurance issues. I would have at least started a roth 401k and possibly even a brokerage account then
