FROM HEARTBREAKING DECEIT TO THE CRY FOR HOME: THE PLIGHT OF A CANADIAN CITIZEN STRANDED IN NAIROBI. Every single day on the streets of Nairobi, we come across people. Many look away, dismissing them as a nuisance or part of the city’s background noise. But if you stop, if you look into their eyes, you will see a human being with a soul, a name, a broken dream, and a story that deserves to be heard. Today, my team and I encountered a man whose story completely broke my heart. Living under the harsh elements of our city’s streets, hungry, neglected, and fighting for basic survival, he is far away from where his journey began. As we sat down with him, spoke with him, and gave him food and clean clothes to restore his immediate dignity, a shocking truth emerged. This man is not from around here. He belongs to Canada. He is a Canadian citizen who somehow found himself lost, stranded, and abandoned thousands of miles away from home, completely swallowed by poverty and the unforgiving reality of street life. With tears in his eyes, he held my hands and wept. His only cry, his deepest plea, is to go back to his motherland. He is begging the Canadian Government, the Canadian High Commission in Nairobi, and his people back home to hear his voice, to trace his roots, and to take him back. No human being should have to suffer in anonymity, disconnected from everything they know and love. I have always believed that leadership is not about sitting in comfortable offices or wearing heavy titles; leadership is measured by direct, compassionate action for the most vulnerable. As the Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service, my promise to society is that we will not just walk past suffering. We have stepped in to secure a safe temporary shelter for him, and we will ensure he receives proper medical attention, food, and the care he deserves while he is under our watch. However, temporary rescue is not enough without a permanent solution. I am raising this call to the Canadian authorities and the global community: let us join hands to reunite this man with his country. Let us show him that humanity knows no borders, that he has not been forgotten by the world, and that it is never too late to have your story rewritten. Please share this widely until it reaches the right eyes and ears in Canada. Let’s bring him home. #geoffreymosiria #moishe_7 #canada
