Sometimes we need to be a bit more honest when students get things wrong. I went to my cousins parents evening back in May. Her maths teacher was full of praise and full of enthusiasm and that she enjoys mathematics lessons. However; she really struggles with algebra trigonometry and fractions. So I said so basically she’s not understanding the basic concepts. It kinda went awkwardly for the teacher and I just said look if anyone works and made big calculations errors that could cost thousands or even millions so you would be fired in the real world.
