Muriel’s Wedding is about Muriel, a girl who feels like she never really belongs and is desperate to change her life. She dreams about getting married and having the life she thinks will finally make her happy, but then she meets Rhonda, and their friendship slowly changes the way she sees herself and what she actually wants. It’s honestly pretty depressing at times, and Muriel’s life made me so sad, but then the ABBA songs come in and somehow make everything feel so uplifting. I love movies that can make me feel sad and happy at the same time. So happy I came across this movie.
