Evanescence – Lithium Live at Pinkpop 2007. A song about emotional duality at a beautiful and incredible festival. Evanescence performance at Pinkpop 2007 was one of the important performances of the The Open Door era. The show took place on May 28, 2007, during the final day of the festival. That year, Pinkpop was sold out, with around 62,500 visitors in total. Evanescence was on The Open Door tour, supporting their second studio album. The performance took place just a few months after the album’s release. What makes this show interesting is the balance between the albums The Open Door and Fallen. This made the performance work particularly well at a festival, beginning with a powerful and energetic sequence before moving into more atmospheric and melancholic moments. Visually, it is also a very representative show of Amy Lee’s aesthetic at the time: elaborate outfits, dramatic lighting, and a performance that alternated between aggressive moments and more theatrical passages. Lithium is part of the album The Open Door. The song works as a metaphor for the desire to numb emotional pain, but also for the fear of losing one’s own sensitivity. Amy Lee explores this duality by expressing the desire to remain in love with her own sadness. The lyrics alternate between the search for relief and the refusal to let go of the pain, revealing an intense internal struggle. Lithium creates a melancholic and introspective atmosphere, in which the struggle to remain emotionally alive becomes stronger than the desire to stop feeling pain.#evanescence #lithium #amylee #pinkpop - @armani_films_videos
