Same job, more money, no ties to a BS hospital system.

I switched my major from nursing into vet tech .. I now want to be a veterinarian. Been working at a hospital with humans for almost 10 years and I’m done with it.

so when hospital are short staffed, they are willing to spend more money to the travel nurses agencies. rather than spending more into their actual staff nurses? there will always be someone willing to work for the money

So many nurses, I have talked to, including my wife. Get so drained being at the same hospital and dealing with the same things over and over again. I think being a travel nurse allows you to make more money and experience different things.

In Germany, leased employees in the health care system get payed better then the ones who are permanently employed. So that's why young nurses like to do it and they can pick their times, so it works while studying.

I wish I could do travel nursing so bad. I want to make that money and have little commitment to a facility

Not all hospital environments aligned with me. It was nice to know that there was an end point and I could simply move on or renew if I liked the place and was asked back. The key for me was non committal.

Most full time RN positions, not inpatient, around me are 40hrs a week with 2 weeks vacation for the first 10 years, then you get 3 weeks. There is no quality of life or flexibility. I can’t understand why these systems can’t adjust

From my perspective, I love it because I get to be just a nurse. I don't have to deal with all of the Hospital Management garbage I can just take care of my patients
