Said by someone who has never once tried to get better — and that's the tell. It's called weaponised incompetence. Do the job badly one time and you are never asked again. No argument, no refusal, nothing to push back against. That's what makes it a tactic rather than a flaw: incompetence they control is cheaper than a refusal you'd have to defend. And you can't be angry at someone for trying. That's the whole point of it. So stop re-teaching. Don't demonstrate it again, don't leave instructions, don't do it faster yourself. Say one thing: "I'll wait until it's done." Then don't rescue it — let the task sit there wearing their name. Bad at it is a salary they pay themselves.
