I don't like them either, but you can use them to open up about something more interesting. You can tell them you're excited, cause you just ordered xyz and can't wait to use it! A lot of times, they wanna talk about that.
Or you can tell them you're good, you just played some of the new silent hill game and it was really good, and then you can ask if they've had the chance to play it or if they are going to play it. I also tend to answer that I'm good and about the most recent shoot I'm finally done editing or in the process of editing. I may send a picture to them, just one if them I will shortly post on my wall. That way I can give them a sneak peek, and get them excited about my next video. And we don't have to do the small talk. I feel most people just start the conversation with that, because they have no idea what to ask. And because in many countries, this is how you're suppose to start a conversation. If you don't, you're rude. So I just try and answer positive, either fine or excited, or maybe I'll talk about how I'm activelye procrastinating because I don't like editing the videos. Filming is fun, same with taking pictures. But editing a video is not. So we often talk about their work too, and bond over that. So you don't have to do small talk, but you have to be creative for how you steer it into something more interesting 😋
