@pagesbynova: Lena Schuett had one hour and forty minutes before her next meeting. For most people, that would have been enough time to answer emails, review documents, or catch up on the mountain of work sitting on her desk. For Lena, there was only one obvious choice. She picked up her phone. Her assistant looked up from the tablet in her hands. “Yes?” “I have an hour and forty minutes?” “Yes.” Lena stood from her desk. “I’m going to the bakery.” Her assistant didn’t even look surprised. “Of course.” Lena grabbed her coat. “Don’t move my three o’clock.” “I wouldn’t dare.” Lena paused at the door. “And don’t tell anyone where I’m going.” Her assistant gave her a knowing look. “I never do.” “Good.” And with that, Lena walked out. ⸻ Miu’s Bakehouse was only a short drive from Schuett Shipping & Retail. It was one of those places people could recognize without needing to see the sign. Warm lights filled the large windows, and the smell of freshly baked pastries seemed to follow anyone who walked through the door. It had become one of the most popular bakeries in the city. Miu had built it slowly, starting with a small shop before eventually expanding it into the beautiful bakery it was now. Lena had watched every step. She had been there before the first shop opened. Before the reviews. Before the lines outside. Before everyone knew Miu’s name. And she was still Miu’s biggest supporter. Lena stepped through the bakery door. The small bell above it rang. “Welcome!” One of the employees looked up. Then she smiled. “Good afternoon, Ms. Schuett.” Lena gave a polite nod. “Good afternoon.” To everyone in the bakery, Lena Schuett was simply a regular customer. A very wealthy regular customer. A very quiet regular customer. But still a regular customer. Nobody knew that the woman behind the counter was her wife. Nobody knew that Lena had spent years helping Miu choose the bakery’s first location. Nobody knew that Lena had a spare key to the back door. And nobody certainly knew that Miu had an impressive collection of Lena’s clothes at home. Speaking of which— Miu walked out from the kitchen. Lena’s eyes immediately dropped to what she was wearing. An oversized black T-shirt. One Lena knew very well. Miu caught her looking. A tiny smile appeared on her face. “What?” Lena looked at her. “Nothing.” Miu raised an eyebrow. “You’re staring.” “I’m not.” “You are.” Lena looked away. “You’re wearing my shirt.” Miu glanced down. “Oh.” She smiled innocently. “Am I?” “You know you are.” “Maybe.” Lena tried not to smile. “You stole that.” “I borrowed it.” “You’ve had it for three months.” “Then I borrowed it for a long time.” Lena shook her head. Miu turned toward the counter. “What can I get for you, Ms. Schuett?” Lena played along. “One matcha, please.” Miu waited. “And?” Lena looked at the pastry display. “The almond croissant.” “Your usual.” “Exactly.” One of the employees glanced between them. Miu already knew Lena’s order. Not unusual. Lena came here often. Still… There was something about the way Miu smiled at her that made the employee pause. She brushed it off. Probably nothing. ⸻ — Continuation ⬇️ — #lenamiu #miulena #lenaschuett #miunatsha

Continuation 3️⃣➡️The bell above the door rang as she left. . Miu watched her disappear through the window. . Then she shook her head. . Her wife was ridiculous. . But she loved her anyway. . Lena slipped into the back seat of her car and immediately checked her phone. . A message from Miu appeared. . Miu: Drink your water. . Lena stared at the screen. . Then sighed. . She opened the bottle sitting beside her. . Her assistant, sitting in the front seat, glanced at her through the mirror. . “Water?” . Lena gave her a look. . “Miu.” . The assistant smiled. . “Of course.” . Lena took a drink. . For someone who could command an entire company without hesitation, she was remarkably easy for one woman to boss around. . And Lena wouldn’t have it any other way. . Because no matter how terrifying Lena Schuett was to everyone else— . to Miu, she was simply her wife. . And apparently, a wife who needed constant reminders to drink water. ⸻

Continuation 1️⃣➡️Lena took her usual seat by the window. . It was tucked slightly away from the rest of the bakery, where she could see the street outside without having people constantly walking past her table. . She opened her phone. . Three emails. . Two missed calls. . One message from her assistant. . Your three o’clock meeting has been confirmed. . Lena sighed. . Then a plate appeared in front of her. . Her almond croissant. . Followed by her matcha. . Miu placed both down. . “There.” . “Thank you.” . Miu pulled out the chair across from her. . “Mind if I sit?” . Lena looked at her. . “I’m charging you rent.” . “I’m the owner.” . “Exactly.” . Miu smiled and sat down. . For the next few minutes, they talked quietly. . Nothing important. . Nothing dramatic. . Just the little things. . How Miu’s morning had gone. . How Lena’s meeting had gone. . A new pastry Miu wanted to add to the menu. . A shipment that had arrived late at one of Lena’s warehouses. . Normal things. . Married things. . Lena took a bite of her croissant. . “This is good.” . “You say that every time.” . “Because it’s good every time.” . “You’re biased.” . “I’m your wife. I’m allowed to be biased.” . Miu’s smile widened. . “Careful.” . Lena raised an eyebrow. . “About what?” . “Someone might hear you.” . Lena glanced around the bakery. . Everyone was busy. . “Then they might hear me.” . Miu laughed softly. . “You’re supposed to be pretending we’re strangers.” . “We’re not strangers.” . “I know.” . Lena reached across the table and gently tapped Miu’s hand. . “I just don’t like pretending.” . Miu’s expression softened. . “I know.” . For a moment, they simply looked at each other. . Then Miu noticed the time. . “You have a meeting.” . Lena immediately frowned. . “I know.” . “You should go.” . “I have twenty minutes.” . “Lena.” . “Fifteen.” . “Lena.” . “Ten?” . Miu laughed. . “You’re impossible.” . “And you’re sending me away.” . “You have a company to run.” . Lena sighed dramatically. . “I’d rather stay here.” . “You say that now.” . “I mean it.” ⸻

Continuation 2️⃣➡️Miu stood. . “You’ll survive.” . Lena looked up at her. . “Barely.” . Miu rolled her eyes and walked away. . Lena smiled. . Across the bakery, one of the employees had been watching them. . Not intentionally. . She was simply cleaning a nearby table when she noticed something. . Ms. Schuett came here all the time. . Everyone knew that. . But she’d never really paid attention to how comfortable Lena seemed around Miu. . It wasn’t like the way customers normally behaved. . Miu knew Lena’s exact order. . Lena knew which pastries had been added to the menu. . They talked like they had known each other for years. . And Miu had been wearing what looked suspiciously like an expensive designer T-shirt. . The employee glanced at Lena. . Then at Miu. . Then back at Lena. . She frowned slightly. . Interesting. . But whatever their relationship was, it wasn’t really her business. . So she returned to cleaning the tables. ⸻ Lena checked her watch. . Five minutes. . She reluctantly stood. . Miu came back from the kitchen. . “Leaving?” . “I have to.” . “You’ll be late.” . “I know.” . Miu smiled. . “Then go.” . Lena picked up her coat. . She hesitated. . Then leaned closer. . “Come here.” . Miu looked around. . “Lena.” . “What?” . “You’re in public.” . “I know.” . “And people are watching.” . Lena glanced around. . Nobody seemed to be paying attention. . She smiled. . “Fine.” . She stepped back. . Miu shook her head. . “You’re ridiculous.” . Lena smiled. . “See you tonight?” . “Of course.” . “And don’t forget to eat.” . Miu raised an eyebrow. . “You’re telling me to eat?” . “Yes.” . “You forgot breakfast.” . Lena went silent. . Miu smiled triumphantly. . “I knew it.” . “I was busy.” . “You’re always busy.” . “That’s why I need you.” . Miu’s expression softened. . “You have to go.” . Lena nodded. . “Okay.” . She walked toward the door. . Then turned around. . “Oh.” . “What?” . “I’m taking the shirt back.” . Miu looked down at herself. . “No, you’re not.” . Lena laughed. . “Fine.” ⸻
