To be fair, the 70mm ratio would be awkward on people's TVs.

It’s so funny that 1/3 of this movie is about to become lost media

How is this shocking? Literally every film that has IMAX shots, or shot for the format, never keeps the aspect ratio for home release.

It's because you would have black bars on the left and right side of the tv, almost like a 4:3 ratio

The Odyssey is the one time I wish was split up into 2+ movies. So many things were omitted.

It’s still an expanded ratio to fill the 16:9 screens and TVs. It’s not widescreen. It’s a middle ground.

Don’t release it in 1:43 until the theaters that show it that way stop selling out. Smart.

I must be really desensitized to movies because I didnt even know it was Rated R. It was PG13 at best to me, lol.

I mean, of course, how could they sold it to you later at an enormous price if they release it now

there’s literally no movie release that has 1.43 at home viewing. and i saw it at both a 70mm imax (1.43:1) and laser (1.90:1) and you don’t miss anything. 1.43:1 is best for theater immersion and most people don’t have the facilities to achieve that at home anyways

I'm totally ok with watching it with black bars on the side. I rather get the full frame then black bars on the top and bottom. I'll wait till they're a home release with the full aspect

How is it unexpected? They literally casted every single big name actor they possibly could have. If it didn’t do well it wouldn’t been incredibly surprising.
