I don’t really understand why kids now don’t knock on when they kick the ball over to come and get it? We regularly have numerous footballs kicked over from our next door but one neighbour and when it gets to around 10 balls I end up going round and putting them outside their front door but tbh it’s not my job? When we were younger if we kicked the ball over we went and knocked on all embarrassed and apologetic to get ya ball back?!?

Am I mean because I wouldn’t replace 😬🤣 If they kick it over and leave it, that’s on them 🤷🏼♀️

As a mother of 5 (2 of which are football crazy) that kick the ball into our neighbours garden unintentionally if this was to happen I wouldn’t expect them to buy a new ball it’s their fault for not being more careful x

Footballs are expensive - they should take better care of their things and not put responsibility on you. Don’t buy a new ball.

i would replace it this time, but explain that the dog does eat the balls that come on the garden, so they know next time you won’t replace it

I recently had this happen except one of my dogs resource guards so we don’t allow toys together, they both ran out and I didn’t see the ball so they got into a little skuffle over it 🥲 it was popped in seconds and I felt so bad! I just explained the dogs got it before I saw it, hopefully they’ll knock next time so I can pick it up before letting them out 😅

Don’t feel guilty! My son kicks the ball over into our back neighbour (it drives me mad - I have told him to be careful and apologised to the neighbour!) and if they had a dog who popped it, so be it. Not their fault. My kids fault for kicking it over.

our next door neighbour has a dog, we have a rule, if the ball goes over its his ball now 🤷🏼♀️usually if the human spots it first he will chuck it back over. if he doesnt, they should have been more careful with kicking it about!
we also throw his balls back over as he gets very excited with his tennis balls 😂

Aims :
buy a new ball and kindly explain that while you will keep an eye out you can't help if it your dog gets it's so could they please be mindful as you won't be able to afford to replace it again, but your more than happy for them to knock x

As a parent I definitely wouldn’t expect you to buy a new ball if they keep doing it and the dog gets their first then tuff luck

My neighbours behind kept doing this, but also kicking the ball was such ginormous force it would hit my kitchen window. I politely told them to stop if they could and that I have a dog who would unfortunately attack their balls if they were left unattended. The next time one hit my kitchen window I did not go out and shout, I let my spaniel have the time of its life for half an hour. And then chuck the remnants of the ball back over the fence. Safe to say I’ve not had a ball in my garden since.

Shouldn’t have been in YOUR garden in the first place… maybe this will teach them a lesson ❤️
