Because my parents died when I was young and I have no one to help me but myself. Then I get made to feel like the unsuccessful one when I don’t reach milestones but someone whose parents helped them achieve all their goals says they “worked hard for it”. No you did not.

Well this speaking from experience. Some parents help their kids into adulthood so much that they don’t know how to do anything. Then when the parents pass or can no longer help that now adult struggles to do the bare minimum. Life gets harder for them. They aren’t really helping if that child doesn’t realize the effort and hard work it takes to do stuff and to earn things.
