She explained how federal cuts to Medicaid are actively undermining patient care and pushing our community hospitals to the brink. When we cut healthcare funding, the ripple effect is dangerous. Rural clinics close down, leaving pregnant mothers and families hours away from the nearest emergency room. When folks cannot afford their medicine, they end up in the emergency room for preventable conditions, stretching our local doctors and nurses past their limits. We must listen to our medical professionals and protect our local clinics. In Congress, I will fight relentlessly to stand up for our healthcare workers and patients. My immediate priority is to reverse these devastating budget cuts by working to repeal the big, ugly spending bill and restore full funding to Medicare and Medicaid. This is the only way to save our rural emergency rooms and protect local clinics.
