Freya, if you both agreed to split the bill, shouldn’t that agreement be taken at face value? If you had a different expectation about what “splitting the bill” meant, it would probably have been better to make that clear at the time. It doesn’t necessarily have to mean an exact 50/50 split — it could be 60/40, 70/30, or whatever feels fair. The important thing is that both people understand and are genuinely happy with the arrangement, rather than one person agreeing while privately expecting the other to do something different.

It all depends if somebody asked somebody out like if I was asking a girl out I would obviously pay but if you’re just meeting up or something to do then it should be 50-50 and most otherwise discussed about that not just thinking it should be on him
