Technological advancement does not contradict religion. Religion and technology are two separate matters, so there is no need to attach technological developments to religious teachings. During the time of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, horses were among the best and most common means of transportation. The Prophet ﷺ rode horses, just as the people of his time, including the non-Muslims, also used them for transportation. This shows that using modern technology does not necessarily conflict with Islam simply because it was not available during the time of the Prophet ﷺ. What is important is that our religion has already been perfected. Allah says in the Qur’an: ٱلْيَوْمَأَكْمَلْتُلَكُمْدِينَكُمْوَأَتْمَمْتُعَلَيْكُمْنِعْمَتِي وَرَضِيتُلَكُمُٱلْإِسْلَٰمَدِينًا “Today I have perfected for you your religion, completed My favor upon you, and have approved Islam as your religion.” — Qur’an 5:3 Therefore, technological advancement should not be confused with the perfection of religion. Technology can continue to develop and change with time, while the fundamental principles and teachings of Islam remain complete and preserved.
