I once was talking to my parish priest and the topic of Benedict XVI came up. He told me that the last person he asks for intercession in his prayers is Benedict XVI. I have done the same ever since and afterwards I found that reading theological books were much easier to understand (which I always had a hard time reading and was super frustrated). Perhaps he is interceding for me in that way! Pope Benedict XVI, ora pro nobis!
