Come on, Black people, don’t let them divide us. You don’t have to agree with Abdul El-Sayed on everything to recognize what’s happening. This man is being attacked not just over his politics, but because he’s Muslim, and that kind of discrimination should sound familiar to us.
We have to stand side by side against racism, Islamophobia and discrimination, because if we keep letting people divide working class communities against each other, ain’t shit gonna change.
Look at what Mamdani has shown in New York. You can go against the political establishment and still center everyday people. Abdul is talking about Medicare for All, affordability and taking on corporate influence. Those are real issues affecting working class Americans every single day.
We can disagree on policies and hold politicians accountable without attacking somebody because of their race, religion or background. That distinction matters. We’re stronger when we recognize that.

honestly I feel as Arabs we should be more sensitive to black people. they come to us when they feel we have been a part of the discrimination that they face. we need to be sensitive and gentle with our black brothers in the same way that our prophet was sensitive with Bilal. be respectful and be kind.

As a black African Arab woman I want more conversations like this. He lost the black vote which SUCKS, but we need to work towards unifying, not dividing. And the white elite will always try to divide. Look at the platforms Mike and Haley ran on and curring run on: one nation under racism for all.

Arabs and Black people have always coexisted in actual Detroit and Dearborn because those are WORKING class people 🙄 they need to talk about the blatant racism in the wealthy white suburbs like Royal Oak and Birmingham’s

While that is a good question it's directed at the wrong person, and shows a fundamental lack of understanding on what the role and powers of a US senator is. this question needs to be asked of your local government and state leaders not a US senator.
