@soul_and_substance: Should surveillance technology be used to help protect children? Dunwoody residents raised concerns after audit logs showed Flock Safety employees accessing cameras at a local community center. The incident is part of a larger debate over surveillance technology, children's privacy and who can access camera footage. Odd language use-- cameras don't prevent crimes, just document them.

I’d love to see a list of the crimes they’ve solved with these cameras.

think of it this way, there's cops who hold vendettas and there's cops who think they can commit crimes because they're a cop who's gonna stop those officers? it's been known that people strike up relationships for special privileges and secret connections can be made for malicious acts. what if a cop becomes a serial murdr and uses flock for his crimes?

Interesting. I think that humans overall are both good and bad. Maybe if the cameras are pointed at the streets by the playground to see who comes and goes but not on the playground itself. This should help someone catch a bad guy pull up or leave with someone they did not come with maybe. They should be no blind spots to the connecting roads like if the playground is on a corner. This would keep the playground itself private, not spy on kids but also Moniter who comes and goes. Most grocery stores and private companies do this to their parking lots anyways, right? I’m just wondering.
