A tear and an episiotomy are 2 completely different things!

An Episiotomy is when a Dr does a small cut so a tear doesn't happen while giving birth. I had 5 babies and all 5 times I was given one. The Dr then places stitches after the birth to fix the cut that was administered.

Actually a tear has a very nebulous meaning. A episiotomy is a specific procedure unlike a tear which could mean anything
