Con l’operazione di oggi sono 230 gli studenti palestinesi arrivati dalla Striscia di Gaza attraverso i “corridoi universitari” facilitati dal nostro Governo. Giovani ragazze e ragazzi che nonostante la guerra non hanno mai smesso di credere nel loro futuro. Studenti che potranno proseguire il proprio percorso accademico presso Atenei italiani. Sono 59 quelli giunti oggi nella Capitale, mentre altri 13 arriveranno domani a Milano e saranno accolti in 21 università italiane nell’ambito del programma “IUPALS” (Italian Universities for Palestinian Students), promosso dalla Conferenza dei Rettori delle Università Italiane in collaborazione con il Ministero degli Esteri e il Ministero dell’Università e della Ricerca. A questa operazione la Farnesina, insieme alle Ambasciate d’Italia a Tel Aviv e Amman e al Consolato Generale a Gerusalemme, lavorava da tempo. È stato un percorso complesso, anche per le difficili condizioni sul terreno, ma grazie all’impegno e alla determinazione di donne e uomini delle Istituzioni siamo riusciti, da un lato, a portare in sicurezza questi giovani verso un’opportunità di studio e di futuro e, dall’altro, a rafforzare la formazione della classe dirigente palestinese.
