I've said this for a LONG time. This is one of my biggest complaints about religion, it gives divine credence to your own beliefs, acknowledge that it really is just YOU thinking that, not you "feeling" God's will

a further point: authors of religious texts would've had the same psychological tendencies that we study today, so it's safe to say that scriptural perceptions of god are primarily products of ppls own perceptions of god

This is why I spend more time trying to meditate and be in the presence of what many are calling God than thinking about God, and when I do, I take it as fundamentally from myself, not God, because it’s in my head, my thoughts. If there is an objective God, it’s not best found in our minds.

So, what I’m hearing is that humans are their own moral center. So, for those people that don’t understand where atheists get their morals from, this explains it. All humans get their morals from themselves and their lived experience.

I had a conversation with my friend (Christian) the other night and these videos have helped me verbalize my deconstruction so much. Before, I had a hard time explaining why I walked away bc they want objective evidence when I only had subjective and life is full of grey areas where they see black and white.
