As a person who plays maple hospital as a pharmacist and a nurse on a normal basis it’s the Pharmacy’s job since nurses have patients

As a Pharmacy tech when the tube system goes down, I run all over the hospital. I don’t let my patients suffer.

coming from pharmacy: you would've likely been the 8th nurse that was probably saying they needed their meds right away... then another nurse is mad when no one is in pharmacy to dispense to the rest of the hospital 😹 love your videos

i’m a cna and i love taking “field trips” as i call it, so when our tube system is down i will happily run to pharmacy for meds, bring stuff to the lab, do all the things. in fact, i tell pharmacy to call me directly if they have any more meds and even offer to drop off meds for the other units that i pass on my way up!

Pharmacy can't legally stay opened without a pharmacist, she's gonna need to get it

I know it’s a skit but why is two professional disputes more important than actual patients needing their meds at a specific time ? — asking bc if this is a skit it’s prob from a real situation somewhere 🤷♀️🫠

I’m a lab tech. I’m on pharmacy’s side. We both have the entire hospital of patients we’re responsible for. You’re only responsible for a handful of patients. (Probably too many but that’s another story). If you can’t leave bedside for whatever reason, and there’s not a CNA or tech near that can do it, call the house supervisor to do the pickup. That’s part of why they’re there.

Nurse “I can’t leave the ward because we would be out of safe staffing ratio, opening the hospital to law suits”

As someone who works in the blood bank and is going to school: Nurses, you have 1 sheet of patients. The lab and the Pharmacy have the entire hospital and probably a few extra satellite sites like the rehab center, LTC, and psych. They also don't get help from the hospitals to encourage people to go into these jobs. So come get your stuff!

Our pharmacy has scheduled times when medications are delivered to the floors (multiple times a day). You need it faster than that? You come pick it up yourself.

So the way, I see it is neither the Nurse or the Pharmacist should have gotten it: Nurse no because her patients could crash while she’s gone, not Pharmacist bcuz he has more orders. So see if there’s someone going on break who can grab it or send a Pharmacy tech…

pharm tech here. pharmacist will check and verify orders while techs prep and deliver either to the nurse, med station, fridge unit or pyxis/omni units. when tubes go down nurses pick up stat priority meds if they need them. we have designated run times to deliver meds to the floor and if the orders fall while we’re out on the run or after the run we don’t deliver because we have to prep the doses for the entire hospital which can include outpatient/clinical units. on top of that we also restock every pyxis/omni unit on the floors. so normally we’re pretty busy but we do make exceptions depending on the situation. iv room pharmacy is a WHOLE other animal tho
