Despite the decline, Florida continues to surpass pre-COVID tourism levels, with domestic travelers accounting for most visitors. State economists have cited inflation outpacing wage growth and slowing tourism as concerns for the state's economic outlook. Florida's tourism industry, which was hit hard by the pandemic, had steadily recovered since 2022 and has surpassed its 2019 record of 131 million annual visitors each year.
