during my high school days, we attended the funeral of our Main rugby team sponsor during a school day...we went there and went back to school and continued with classes...it was my biggest culture shock.

I went to a white person’s memorial service once coz I think he was cremated. After that everyone stood up, packed up the chairs and the family left. People served themselves sandwiches,fruits,wraps, tea and juice while standing…and left! It made so much sense.

I do have a question as many commented that they pay for funeral cover, however funeral cover is not that much, why spend thousands of rands hosting 100’s of people some who didn’t even know the deceased, while you can have a smaller funeral cover/smaller fee to pay monthly and use the rest of the money monthly to invest for your future?
