So if somebody has 35 pounds to lose, they should start off with a deficit until they reach a goal weight followed by increasing for maintenance?

Those are crazy stats. I am 5’ 3” and have been lifting for over 20 years just had my metabolism tested and my maintenance is 1530. A deficit with those numbers is difficult.

But as someone who needs to lose more than 50lb you have to stay in for longer?

best coaching hack: be in Playbook working a 6 week progressive overload plan with Alicia, while listening to her get ready and talk nutrition on TikTok. 💪🏼 This is how we start the day ladies ❤️I took me a decade to find a coach that is my size and has shown me the possibilities. On behalf of the 5’3ish crowd - we thank you! being tiny but mighty is a different beast!!!

I'm also 5'3 and 115, been lifting 3 yrs now. Im getting there slowly, not nearly as strong as you, I've seen your lifts. For me, it's the abs I struggle with most. Thought I'd see more progress in that area by now as I've prioritized high protein and fibre.

Menopausal women …. Is it essential to be on hormones to achieve this? I know insulin resistance increases aka fat storage without estrogen. just don’t feel like going through HRT

So helpful! I ate in a deficit for way too long . I was lifting and the fat loss plus strength training produced aesthetics on the outside initially looked like success… but I developed a peroneal nerve issue and foot drop condition out of nowhere and it’s taken 6 months to address. Now I understand maintenance and eat accordingly! 58 and went from 150 to 102 ( bad) to now 110 ( the healthy weight). So glad you’re talking about this topic!

How do I know when to go into maintenance? I’m not sure what my goal Body fat/weight should be. All I know is a calorie deficit and it’s scary to increase. I have lost 50 pounds in the last year.

So I have done a calorie deficit along with working out and I have literally shed about 30 pounds literally 30 pounds.. I have been working out. I have been keeping high protein eating Whole Foods. There are days that I eat a little more because I’m building muscle, but I’m also learning as I’m going so any suggestion? Because I wanna get tone I wanna be shred. I wanna look like you. Yes you look great amazing and I’m getting there, but I feel like I need more work or something… so technically I’m about 120 maybe I’m 119 pounds. I don’t know but I have lost weight and I’m about five to any suggestion.

Did the DEXA scan show you your new muscle growth and so then you knew when to increase your maintenance calories?
