Young people, PLEASE listen to every word of this. All my financial mistakes involved following my parents’ advice & I was a “you’re 18 now” kid. If they’re not contributing, their options don’t matter. Last time I spoke to my father was 12 years ago when he crashed out bc he didn’t like a job I accepted. I had bills to pay & he wasn’t contributing

exactly. my dad threatened to get into my bank account and check after I told him I didn't feel comfortable telling him how much I spend on groceries and that I didn't consider it any of his concern. changed all banking information soon after that because absolutely not. My boundaries will be respected one way or another
