Laying a bike down isnt about stopping faster. Its to avoid being ejected 15ft into the air. If youre going to crash no matter what its better to slide 40ft on the road the to go airborne travel further and hit the ground harder

a guy makes an illegal u turn 15 feet in front of you, its not possible to stop a 1000 lb bike In under 15 feet at 50mph so your just going to eat it.

Honestly Ejecting is the best option I didnt die but I did have multiple laceration because the car that panic stopped in the middle of the road was unavoidable and when I ejected I was flying in the air for a minute. my bike was totaled

Man abs definitely saved my ass the other day. Pressed the rear a little to hard and felt it slide a bit but I recovered in time to upright it and stop.

when someone ask me about any advice for a new rider i usually tell them to go into a empty parking lot and practice using thier brakes. tell them you'd be surprised at how many ppl wreck because they don't know how to use thier brakes in a emergency.
