I get it if it’s internal data, employees emails and Slack chats -employee communications are never promised any kind expectation of privacy. But does the bankruptcy court have to abide by the boundaries set for customer data within Spirit’s stated privacy policy when determining what can be sold?

Google does flights. I wonder if they want to see how airline data is internally organized to improve their flight booking tool?

You know the business operations data of famously very sucessful Spirit Airlines might not be the best training set.

It still doesn’t make sense- between the Google suite of products (hello Gmail), Google search engine, Google ad network - they have SO MUCH DATA. Why do they need spirit’s data?! Why? What new tasks?!

I worked at Google for 8+ years until 2024. My direct team had an annual $10M budget that we were expected to turn into $90-180M in revenue. they clearly expect to extract a lot of value from this dataset

It’s millions of data points. $10 mil is nothing and the value in data is massive. Likely not about II. More about buying patterns based on demographics, etc. used for their tools selling airfares and travel.
