Basil will oxidise quicker. Thermomix, 12 mins @ 80°, pass through fine chinois and freeze, much fewer steps than this sily process.

if you've got a thermomix, why not use the heating function in that? instead of blanching any heating the oil. i blitz on high for 10 secs, then down to speed 2 and 75° temp. when its up to temp run for 30secs more then strain as usual into container over an ice bath.

Can I make one suggestion, without being ‘that person’!? When you freeze the pulp, distribute it into ice cube trays, or as spoonfuls on a baking sheet, which you can bag after freezing, so you have little pieces to use when you need.
