@crmnallyobsessed: Lindsay Clancy was mentally ill, but not psychotic when she killed her three children, and was criminally responsible for her actions, according to a psychiatrist who testified Friday as a rebuttal witness for the prosecution. Dr. Avram Mack testified Clancy was suffering from severe depression, but said he found no evidence she was experiencing psychosis leading up to the killings and no signs of mania or hypomania that would support a bipolar diagnosis. Mack also challenged the defense’s argument that Clancy’s mental illness left her unable to understand or control her actions. He told jurors that psychosis alone does not mean someone cannot distinguish right from wrong, and said Clancy had spent months dealing with depression while still being able to control her impulses. Clancy told Mack she heard a loud male voice directing her to kill her children and then herself. But his conclusions stood in stark contrast to defense expert Dr. Phillip Resnick, who testified that Clancy was “clearly psychotic” and not in control of her actions that day. Even if there was a voice, her listening to it suggests a cognitive inadequacy, because she would have had to have believed murdering them was a way to keep them safe. But, then, she was smart enough to know she shouldn't stick around for the consequences of murder, which would mean her cognitive inadequacy was willful, because she believed the part that didn't make sense, and followed up with understanding that it was wrong. Murder is clearly the opposite of safety. Her story doesn't make sense because she planned on not having to be around to have to tell one.

And if she had just taken her meds it made it worse that’s why she snapped!!! You know nothing about her meds or how they affected her!!
